Well, it is a Friday night when I am writing this. I have just had another of what felt like the world's longest work weeks. But funnily enough, I got nothing done. Although the truth is I did quite a lot if I were to sit back and recount it all. Funny the way we process tasks and time. I am currently, completely unmotivated. I am snuggled beneath a down duvet watching Sundance films rented from Google play and eating very non-paleo chocolate. I'll pay dearly for my bad food choices tomorrow, but I will worry about that tomorrow.
What is a very single and available, reasonably attractive girl doing home alone on a Friday night? Well, it's warm here, and I don't feel like being pretty, or charming, or social tonight. I don't want to work to find conversation topics or witty retorts. I don't want to wonder, “Will I call him again?”, “I wonder if he likes me?”, or something I often wonder, “Will he send me a picture of his junk?”. Yes, people, not everyone is so lucky, but this single girl gets a whole lot of unsolicited junk pictures. I was sent a link of women looking at penis pictures, (twice, yes two different friends immediately thought of me, it's pretty funny, but be advised there is a whole lot of cursing and face making).
Instead, I will stay home alone watching smart, dryly humored films about the angst of adult life. And try my best to not feel bad about my sloth. I will relish my solace, and thoughtfully entertain myself with $20 worth of independent film renting. And enjoy every. last. second. Here, by myself, with chocolate. Are you envious?
