Iced tea with a hint of jalapeno?? Holley, you are a genius! Strawberry Jalapeno Iced Tea is Holley's creation, but I'm gonna step in and talk to you today. Why? Because I like talking with you. You, friend, are good people.
Because you're good people I feel that we need to have a serious conversation. Don't worry, we're not breaking up. And I'm not going to pressure you to for more of a commitment (although we would really love it if you would sign up for email updates for our recipes and follow/share all our social media outlets). No, I nothing like that. What I think we need to discuss is fashion. I know, who am I to comment on this? I'll tell you: I am not just a man, but I come to you today as a human being with eyes.
The thing is that just because somehow certain things become fashionable does not mean that 1) they look good, or b) that an individual looks good in it. There is one thing in particular that has been offending my sight: high-waisted shorts. I happen to know that I am not the only one that thinks this. Not only have I had many conversations about this with men and women recently, but this guy sums it up pretty well. Look how gross these are (the DIY meme is hilarious):
The really tragic thing about this for me personally is that I love jean shorts on women. Look how much better these are:
The 1st one is close to a billion times better and the 3rd one is right around a ba-zillion times better! (I had to cut off the top of this photo because the girl was too cute.)
Here's what I'm thinking: you need to prevent your friends from wearing these things. Seriously. As a public service: this needs to be stopped.
Well friend, now that we have that ugly piece of business out of the way: I was with Holley when she made this iced tea and I've got to tell you, this unique balance of flavors was fantastic! And not at all like the Chipotle Strawberry Wings – which were AWESOME in their own way (one of my favorite recipes). Don't forget to check out the rest of our Summery Iced Teas!

Strawberry Jalapeno Iced tea
Description
Sweet with heat, refreshing for those of you that like it hot!
Ingredients
- 1 cup very ripe strawberries
- 1 jalapeno seeded and sliced
- 1.5 L boiling water
- 1 lemon or lime in wedges
Instructions
- Place fruit and herbs into a large jar or pitcher.
- Pour boiled water into the jar and let sit 1-2 hours.
- With a wooden spoon gently press the fruit and herbs, bruising them and pulling the flavor into the water.
- Refrigerate, pour over a glass full of ice and serve with lime or lemon wedge.
Notes
If you like it spicy, simply slice the jalapeno and throw them in, it looks prettier (in my opinion), and the seeds carry the kick.

Some people have mirrors that don’t work. Obviously…
There was a similar conversation this week about old guys well past their ‘best before’ date in marble bag swimsuits at the pool.
The advantage of getting older is your vision is supposed to go.
In some cases… not soon enough.
Get Holley to teach you about Raspberry Vinegar.
It is awesome.
This is just infused water, it’s it not? It doesn’t make a proper cuppa.
Correct! I find the hot water gives more infusion than just sitting in cold water.
